So last weekend we decided kind of last minute to go camping. We realized that summer is going to be over before we know it and we haven't really done anything yet. One of our friends was telling us about a state park that is only about an hour away. You can camp right on the bay and go fishing. So of course, Wuilman was all for that. So it was around 6:30 p.m., so we went home threw some pjs and clothes in a bag, went to Walmart to load up the cooler, and buy a tent. (This is our first Texas camping trip) :) So we got there around 9:30 p.m. and it was SO SO SOOOO windy! It was super hard to set up our tent, but we finally got it. Krissi was pretty good hanging out in her little chair while we set up camp. As you can see, she figured out if she pulls out one end of the arch she can actually reach the turtles!

This is me and the girls waiting for Papa to finish cooking our hot dogs! It was so windy all night long, I don't know how anybody got any sleep. One time I woke up and Wuilman had his leg in the air trying to hold the tent up! We survived anyway.

This was right out the front door of our tent. We had bought Talia a little Dora fishing pole that has a bobber and a little rubber fish on the end of the line. You can really cast it and reel it in, but Talia did not like seeing her fish really going in the water. You can kind of see her put her hands up in protest as she thinks Papa has lost her fish for good.

The rest of the morning she wouldn't let her fishing pole out of her sight!

After breakfast we walked down to a pier they have to go fishing. We don't have a picture of Wuilman and I fishing, but here is one of Talia again. She would throw her line over the edge, but not far enough to get in the water. She would then pull it up and say, "Mama, I got a fish! A pink one!" She continued to do this for about an hour! She really enjoyed that part. She caught the most fish though. Wuilman and I didn't catch anything, but I'm not complaining :) Krissi is asleep with that pink blanket over her chair.

By lunch time it was too hot for clothes, not that we had any clean ones anyway.

Talia has a blast with bubbles, but what kid doesn't?

This is our little campground. It was pretty nice. Each space has one of these with a picnic table, grill and a fresh water spout. You can see how close we were to the actual bay in the background. We had our tent set up in front of the cover, but we had already taken it down.

As Wuilmand I were packing up, we left it up to Talia to try and map our way home. Here she is trying to explain the map to Krissi.

Krissi is looking with real interest.

This is the typical Krissi face. If you knew her you would understand. She can be super happy and then all of a sudden you see this face and the tears just start coming. All in all it was super fun and we can't wait to go back, but we will definately check the weather first. It wasn't the same as Idaho mountain camping, but we still came home dirty and isn't that the point of camping anyway?
